There’s a new drag brunch in Dallas!

Buzz Brews’ Lakewood location has launched a weekly drag brunch hosted by Daphne Rio.

“Buzz N’ Babes” drag brunch takes place Saturdays with two seatings – 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Tickets are on Eventbrite for $15 and parking in the area is free. Note that this brunch is located in Buzz Brews’ English style pub called “The Brewers Arms.”

There’s a special brunch menu, but Buzz Brews’ regular menu is available upon request. This brunch is all ages, but adult language is used. Use discretion when bringing kids!

There’s a new drag show on the Strip

Cedar Springs Tap House recently announced that it will begin hosting weekly drag dinner show hosted by Daphne Rio and Raquel Blake.

“That’s Showbiz: Dinner & Drag Revue” will take place on Fridays and Saturdays starting on August 14.

This show runs from 8pm to 10pm and is the perfect way to start your weekend adventures in Cedar Springs. There’s no cover, but be sure to get there early to ensure that you get a seat.

Round-up Saloon cancels Red Lounge drag shows

We are disappointed to hear about the abrupt cancellation of Raquel Blake and Daphne Rio’s Red Lounge Revue Drag Show this week.

We moved back to Dallas during the pandemic and were thrilled to see that the Round-up Saloon had embraced drag as a way to keep the doors open. It feels like ages ago, but we haven’t forgotten how horrible it was to go out back then…virus fears aside, going to a bar with capacity limits and distancing/seating requirements felt like drinking in a sad, dark restaurant (without real food).

Drag shows really were really the reason to go out and why we started Dallas Gay Nightlife. Without drag shows during the pandemic, us and many other people would have kept ourselves and our money at home. 💸💨
